Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the history of the development of digitalization of foreign language education in Russia, as well as to explore the possibilities for the effective use of multimedia technologies in teachingforeign languages. The relevance of the topic under consideration lies in the fact that the modern age is the age of informatization and scientific knowledge, and therefore, the education system must solve a fundamentally new global problem of preparing specialists for professional life in the conditions of the information society, that is, a modern specialist must be fluent in information technologies and apply them in his professional activities.
