Through a close reading of the novel, the paper delves into the intricate dynamics of power, oppression, and subjugation, which contribute to the perpetuation of ferocity within the national sphere. Drawing upon feminist literary criticism and utilizing a qualitative research approach, the study critically examines the experiences of characters such as Pecola Breedlove, Frieda, and Claudia, as they navigate the complexities of abuse, both physical and psychological.
