Abstract

The aim of this research is the evaluation of inhibitory efficiency of Gum Arabic (GA) against the corrosion of API5L X60 pipeline steel in H2SO4 (0.5M) media, using mass loss measurement and electrochemical methods. The results show that inhibition efficiency increases with inhibitor concentration to attain 83% at 4 g/L of GA. Polarization curves reveal that GA acts as a mixed-type inhibitor in sulfuric acid.
