Abstract
This article offers a postcolonial critique of Niki Daly’s Pretty Salma (2006), a Ghanaian retelling of the European folktale Little Red Riding Hood. Here, I particularly examine the role and representation of characters that highlight the conflict between the traditional and non-traditional styles of livelihood within Ghanaian society and argue for a more critically sensitive and inclusive approach to societal representation within Black spaces.
