Abstract

The expected side effects of irradiation therapy justify radical preparation of the oral cavity before irradiation in case of a malignant tumor of the maxillofacial region. The well-timed extractions of teeth in circumstances described is the safest way to prevent the incurable infection of the irradiated bone.
