[Metastatic tumors of the mandible].

Abstract

Despite of the low percentage of the metastatic lesions to the mandible in the case of the osteolytic process it should be considered, that the disease probably is not the primary one, but has been spread from any asymptomatic primary tumor. Such situation can be suspected, if in the radiologic determined area swelling, pain, paresthesia, loosening of teeth or trismus occurs and should be confirmed throughout the histopathological diagnosis, roentgenographic evidence and through the histopathologic correlation of the metastatic lesion with the primary lesion.
