The Syntactic Structure of Noun Phrases (1)

Abstract

본고는 Cheng and Sybesma(2014)의 전반부를 번역한 것이다. 본고는 중국어 명사구의 구조를 다룬다. 1절에서는 명사구의 형식, 2절에서는 명사구의 다양한 해석적 속성을 살펴보고, 3절에서는 수식과 관련된 쟁점들을 조사하고, 4절에서는 분류사의 성질을 고찰한다. 특히 주목할 것은 ClP 즉 분류사 층위가 한정성의 원인이 된다는 주장이다. The paper is a translation of the first half part of Cheng and Sybesma (2014). This article deals with the structure of Chinese noun phrase. Section 1 examines the form of noun phrase, Section 2 investigates the various interpretational properties of noun phrase, Section 3 discusses issues related to modification, and Section 4 examines the nature of classifier. Of particular note is the claim that ClP is the cause of definiteness.
