Classic Deconstruction: The Artistic Features of Avant-garde Drama Old Tales Retold

Abstract

"Old Tales Retold" is a collection of Lu Xun's classic short stories, which was adapted into a drama by pioneering director Lin Zhaohua in 2000. Both of them provide deconstructive explanations and breakthroughs in the content and form of traditional novels and traditional dramas. This article attempts to analyze the content and form of the novel and the avant-garde drama "Old Tales Retold" from the perspective of postmodern drama, combining the artistic characteristics of the two works.
