As a result, subjects with metabolic syndrome had significantly higher levels of SUA than controls (P < 0.001). Metabolic syndrome patients with hyperuricemia had higher BMI, WC, TC and LDL-C than those with normal uric acid levels (P < 0.05). Moreover, subjects with more metabolic syndrome components had higher SUA levels. On the other hand, SUA was positively correlated with WC, DBP, FBG, TG, TC and LDL-C and negatively with HDL-C (P < 0.05). Abstract
