PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS FOR SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE NORTHWESTERN FEDERAL DISTRICT IN TIMES OF CRISIS

Abstract

The article examines the impact of the systemic crisis, transformational changes occurring in the socio-economic life of the Northwestern Federal District and St. Petersburg from 2020 to 2023. An analysis of the key macro-indicators of Russia and this region was carried out, many problems were noted, and the features of the socio-economic life of the North-Western Federal District were identified, which contribute to and hinder the stabilization of the economic situation of the region. Development directions have been formulated, considering which will allow the region to emerge from the crisis with minimal losses and create competitive advantages not only within the country, but also in the international arena.
