This paper presented Power-Voltage (PV) and Reactive power-Voltage (QV) analysis which have been widely used in steady state of power system in normal operating condition and gives important details about the loading of the system and voltage stability. The shunt and series compensation can be used to increase the voltage and flow in the power system. Kurdistan Region Power System (KRPS) used to verify the effectiveness and performance of STATCOM in power system. PSS/E proposed as power system software for KRPS. Abstract

This paper presents the effect of Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) device in power system for power flow and voltage stability analysis. The stability of power system is most important evaluation that is needed to be considered under various contingency states.
