Abstract
Studying the ancient Azerbaijani literature, as well as folklore literature, we see that the created works were not always the product of artistic imagination. Real-life events have always given evolution to the formation of literature. The history of the development of fiction documentary prose in Azerbaijani literature was already felt on the examples of literature of the most ancient period. However, the elements of documentality in the oldest examples do not coincide with the characteristics of artistic and documentary genres accepted in modern theory. Because only certain autobiographical, memoiristic elements were embedded in the created works. The process of transferring what remains in memory to literary lines has already been met in classical literature by examples.
