Increasing the Supply Chain Competitiveness of Bulgarian Companies by Applying Blockchain Technology

Abstract

In the years marked by technological progress, Blockchain technology (BCT) occupies an important place in every sector of the world economy. The trend is also noticeable in developing countries, especially affecting the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. Bulgaria, designated as the fintech capital of the Balkans, is marked by the rising BCT wave, which in turn leads to the growth of the crypto-ecosystem, both at the research level and through the practical use of the technology. As BCT is evolving in two main areas, namely fintech and supply chains, it is appropriate to find out the degree of concentration of individual implementations through which companies want to increase their recognizability globally. For their part, supply chains need to constantly increase their competitiveness, and it is particularly important to examine which tools derived from BCTs can give companies a competitive advantage.
