Abstract

A study of a new bidirectional DC-DC converter based on the Marx concept suitable for high voltage application is carried out. The concept, principles of operation, and analysis led to the design equations. Which are used to determine the parameters of a 50MW DC to DC converter suitable for application to a wind farm DC power collection system. Both the steady-state and dynamic operation are investigated by simulation.
