Price indices in external trade of the Republic of Croatia

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to emphasise the importance of the calculation of price indices in external trade of the Republic of Croatia. In the Croatian Central Bureau of Statistics these indices are calculated by the "unit value" method, also described in the paper. Unit value indices are used for measuring price changes in the Croatian external trade, for calculating volume indices and terms of trade, and for deflating value indicators in the system of national accounts.
