Abstract

Coastal development is a major anthropogenic factors that modify and degrade the coastallagoons and mangrove swamps of Mexico, for this reason, the aim of this work is to highlightthe importance of representing the red mangrove (Rhizophora mangle) at the biological andecological coastal ecosystems and conceptualize it as an umbrella species for the lakeTampamachoco to generate initiatives to protect and restore the lagoon system as signs ofdeterioration and contamination.
