Da conquista à resistência: a luta por moradia em Fortaleza - CE

Abstract

A presente pesquisa busca compreender os processos de remoção da população de baixa renda na cidade de Fortaleza e, como frente a essa realidade, os movimentos sociais se organizaram para lutar e resistir. Para essa compreensão, a pesquisa analisa diferentes períodos. Inicialmente a década de 1970, com o processo de industrialização e as políticas habitacionais que removeu a população pobre para as franjas periféricas. E, posteriormente, o período atual, quando a população se viu mais uma vez ameaçada de remoção para a periferia da cidade por conta das obras de infraestrutura em função de sediar o megaevento Copa do Mundo FIFA 2014. This research seeks to understand the processes of removing of the low-income population in the city of Fortaleza and how, face this reality, social movements have organized themselves to fight and resist. For this understanding, the research analyzes different periods. Initially the 1970s, with the process of industrialization and housing policies that removed the poor to the outlying fringes. And subsequently the current period, when the population was again threatened with removal to the suburbs due to infrastructure works done to host the mega-event World Cup 2014 FIFA.
