Abstract

In this paper, new ultra-wide band (UWB) stop-band frequency selective surface (FSS) is proposed and its capability of enhancing the gain of UWB monopole antenna in constant manner is proved. The frequency band over which flat stop-band response is achieved, covers the entire UWB band from 3 to 12GHz for both polarizations. The proposed FSS constitutes with compact size unit cells printed on one side of dielectric substrate.
