The Effect of The Socio-Economic Characteristics of European States on HSR Fares: Existing Patterns for Rail Baltica

Abstract

Rail Baltica (RB) is the first joint railway project between Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. The economic assessment of the project is rather controversial due to the uncertainty of the revenue side of the project, which, among other things, significantly depends on the level of fare for passenger transportation along the new railway corridor.
