Abstract

Breast milk (breast milk) has many benefits. Breast milk is the main source of nutrition for babies. Breastfeeding reduces infant morbidity, helps optimize children’s development and intelligence. The percentage of exclusive breastfeeding patterns decreases with increasing age of the baby. The percentage of exclusive breastfeeding in Central Java province in 2019 reached 79.7%. Meanwhile, the percentage of exclusive breastfeeding in Karanganyar district only reached 64.1%. The research design was analytic observational with cross sectional approach. This research was conducted in the Health Centers at Sub District Level of Karanganyar District, precisely at the Karanganyar, Tasikmadu, Jaten, Kebak Kramat I, Matesih and Tawangmangu health centers. The sampling technique used Accidental sampling method. The sample in this study was 55 breastfeeding mothers who had babies aged 6-12 months. The variables in this study were exclusive breastfeeding for infants using a questionnaire. The results showed that babies who were not breastfed from birth were 7.3%, babies who were partially breastfed were 32.7% and babies who were exclusively breastfed were 60%.
