ENTRE A CONFISSÃO E A SOCIEDADE: aspectos sociais de uma freguesia colonial no fim do setecentos - Santa Luzia do Norte - Alagoas

Abstract

This article aims to present the first data obtained through research conducted in a specific source, the Confessions Rol. This documentation presents population data collected annually through the Catholic Church in various parishes, in our case, we speak of the parish of Santa Luzia do Norte in Alagoas. The geographical space comprised by the account documentation of two scenarios: one rural, linked to the mills and settlements and another more urban related to the central core of the parish. Initially we will understand what is the function and origin of this documentation to later gather information about society in the parish, seeking data on population contingent, slavery and other information that can show us a little of this colonial past in Alagoas.
