The stories namely “Dui Bandhunka Karamati” “the Achievements of Two Friends” and “Namakarana” (“Naming Ceremony”) show the cultural and ritualistic practices in Odisha. My decision to translate these stories into English is backed by an intention that the non-Odia readers will have a sense and awareness of the cultural trends as well as the literary practices in Odisha.
