The proposed structure consists of a co-excited self-complementary rounded edge bow-tie and a half-loop antenna. The self-complementary structure avoids the use of a balun and a tuning-matching circuit over an UWB, thus reducing the overall antenna size and the associated loss. CST simulations were performed. A prototype was fabricated and measured. Abstract
