The wind turbine is connected to a buck converter to achieve maximum power point tracking under variable wind speed conditions and to charge a battery and feed a DC load. Also, this converter is responsible for stalling the turbine when wind speed exceeds the nominal value for the turbine. Abstract
This paper presents the modeling and analysis of a wind energy conversion system with a stand-alone small-scale induction-generator based wind turbine.
