Promoting Microfinance: Policy Measures Needed

Abstract

This paper is based on the study 'Policy measures to promote the use of micro- credit for social inclusion', which was a part of the Commission's Action Pro- gramme on social exclusion. The study was conducted in 2004 by FACET, EVERS & JUNG and the new economic foundation (nef), with assistance from the European Microfinance Network and the Microfinance Center, for the European Commission DG Employ- ment, Social Affairs and Equal Oppor- tunities unit E/2 1 .
