Abstract
The effectiveness of games as a tool for teaching concepts while motivatingand inspiring students is now well accepted in almost all subjects and levels ofeducation. This study addressed the development and validation of pinoy game-based activities. The research utilized the R&D methodology which included the validation of the activities and try-out where in the quasi-experiment followinga one-shot-prestest-postest design was used. It was found out that the pinoy game based activities were valid interms of their instructional characteristics, objectives, content and evaluation categories and therefore, aregood materials inconcretizinglearning of some physics concepts. Moreover, therewas a significantdifferencebetweenthe preand post achievementscoresof the students and apositivefeedback towardsphysics were also drawn fromthem. The pinoy-game based activities affirmed their worthand advantageas instructional material in teaching concepts of work, powerand energy and enhancing students’achieve-ment and interest towards the subject.
