Characterisation and application of zinc in cosmetology and dietetics

Abstract

Zinc is an element necessary for the proper growth and regeneration of tissues. Moreover, it takes part in the body’s immune processes. The aim of the article was to characterize zinc and its use in dietetics and cosmetology. Both excess and deficiency of zinc are harmful to the human body. Deficiency of this micronutrient may result in a decrease in immunity and inflammation of the system or skin, which is why it is widely used for cosmetic and dietary purposes.
