Abstract

This study attempts to develop a remote-controllable variable frequency drive (VFD). The control signal unit is separated from the power transfer unit of an inverter. After the control signal of sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) is generated at a remote site, a set of wireless communication units performs the function of transmitting and receiving signals, and the power unit at the local site follows the received signals to work on driving a motor.
