Abstract

Polyphase good code sets based on triangular FM waveforms consisting of linear FM (LFM) and piecewise linear FM (PLFM) segments are introduced. The triangular FM based polyphase codes are constructed from symmetrical and antisymmetrical segments of LFM and PLFM codes. This results in a set consisting of double the number of codes compared to the set obtained by changing only the slopes of the LFM or PLFM segments while preserving the cross-correlation properties of the set. Design of several such sets is discussed and their correlation properties compared.
