Abstract
This study explored the communication needs of children with complex communication needs, and based on the input from special education teachers, parents, and academic experts, we developed a augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) software to run on iPad. The application is designed to be used not only for children's daily communication, but also for AAC professional training and academic research. The results of this research were also applied to a Rett syndrome child's functional vocabulary training, and the results were positive.
