Abstract

The shock tube is a commonly used device for the dynamic calibration of pressure transducers. It can generate a step pressure which rise time is of the order of nanoseconds in theory. The properties of pressure transducers in both time and frequency domains can be obtained from the dynamic calibration results with a shock tube. The influence of the gas medium on the metrological characteristics of shock tubes is presented. Four groups of tests are carried out according to the different gas media in the driver section and the driven section.
