Abstract

Many protocols or radio access systems provide some techniques to deal with handover problems. The idea of cross-layer is proposed to facilitate handover across different layers in fast handover mobile IPv6. When FMIPv6 operation enters into reactive mode or wrong handover anticipation, it will result in significant connection disruption and packet loss. This research is focused on layer 3 handover issue based on IEEE 802.16e wireless network.
