Abstract
The world is having an enormous outgrowth in lifestyle and economy based on the huge amount of electricity generation. Bangladesh is also in this race. But the generation of electricity is under pressure here because of limited fossil fuel sources. At this point, renewable energy gives an exemption and, among all the renewable energy resources, solar energy plays a vital role as it is eco-friendly and imperishable. But a limitation of land and its cost becomes a major problem for the installation of land-based large scale solar power plants in Bangladesh. A floating solar photovoltaic system brings a solution to it with a lot more advantages in a riverine country like Bangladesh. This paper will present the prospect of floating solar photovoltaic systems in the catchment area of Kaptai Dam, Bangladesh and reveal the possible analysis regarding co-location, efficiency, costing of FSPV and research possibilities. RET-screen energy management software is to validate the feasibility analysis based on financial details.
