Abstract

This paper proposes an antenna design technique that uses split-ring resonators (SRRs) with lumped capacitors with the aim of enhancing antenna efficiency of a low-height inverted F-type antenna (IFA). SRR elements are arranged on the edge of the ground under the parallel arm of the IFA. Proposed SRR can be designed regardless of the size of bezels. By applying SRRs to an IFA, antenna efficiency is improved by 14.8 % at the operating frequency.
