Abstract

The article examines the composition, structure, mechanisms of acquisition and opportunities for developing student professional competencies based on the integration of electrical engineering disciplines. The possibilities of implementing a structural and content model of professional competence development are analysed. In our opinion, the competences should be developed on the basis of integrative, competence and informational approaches. It has been proved that the professional competencies of electrical engineering students could be developed more effectively while using design and construction activities implemented in the educational process on the basis of the unity of theoretical knowledge and individual work of a student. Comprehensive research made it possible to conclude that it is necessary to involve students not only in various types of research activities but also in the development of educational and methodological complexes of integrated disciplines. This will contribute to the development of integrative professional basic knowledge and, in turn, to the professional competences of students.
