Implementing a Special Media Transmissions Using UltraGrid and CoUniverse

Abstract

The workshop will provide an insight in solving real-world problems using the high-quality, low-latency media transmissions over (high-speed) networks and implemented by the UltraGrid and CoUniverse software developed by CESNET. During the workshop we'll go step-by-step through a deployment of UltraGrid and CoUniverse for a multi-point media transmissions with quality maximized with respect to the state and performance of dynamic network environments. Applications for media broadcasting and medical transmissions already implemented by CESNET and its partners will be used to show the real-world deployment, its most common pitfalls and how to resolve them. The workshop will also cover various non technical aspects such as organization and planning which often tend to be more problematic then the technology and its deployment itself.
