The first band gap of Love wave is calculated by plane wave expansion (PWE) method and finite element method (FEM). The influence of the waveguide layer on the band gap is analyzed. Numerical analysis shows that the thickness of the layer has a significant effect on the first band gap. The band gap can be shift and widen by reduce the thickness of the layer. These results are obtained by PWE method and compared to finite element calculations. Abstract
