The majority of the studies conducted at the higher education level were carried out with the participants in the Faculty of Education. The qualitative research method was mostly used in the articles flollowed by quantitative research method, also statistical analysis, content analysis and descriptive analysis were commonly preferred. Evaluation of the distance education process, due diligence, determination of the opinions and challenges, the effectiveness of distance education and suggestions regarding distance education stood out in the distribution based on the purpose.
