Abstract

Safety-critical systems like aircrafts and ground-vehicles demand using of deterministic networks like TTEthernet. Unexpected situations, like hardware failure caused by temperature conditions or lighting strike on vehicle, can lead to indeterministic behavior of affected component in the observed system. This paper observes synchronization aspects of TTEthernet network through simulations, when in the network exists a component under failure. Specifically, startup time of the network components is assessed, when single-fault tolerant configuration of TTEthernet is used. Two failure scenarios are analyzed: Fail-Arbitrary scenario of End System and Fail-Omission scenario of switch.
