Abstract
Video signal processing for compatible analog HD (high-definition) VCRs in baseband/MUSE modes for consumer use with simple signal processors supporting 2/4-hour recording and search display is discussed. These HD VCRs permit long-time recording and multispeed playback functions similar to those of conventional VCRs. It was confirmed that not only do these VCRs satisfy specifications required for consumer use HD VCRs, but they also demonstrate the possibility of realizing a small-size, inexpensive, and low-power-consumption HD VCR. >
