In contrast to the widely used formulation, using cost-per-km coefficients multiplied with the circuit length, here costs are differentiated in costs for conductors, switching bays and poles. This allows a more accurate consideration of transmission corridors carrying multiple parallel circuits, since expansion costs contain both circuit- and corridor-specific costs. Abstract
