Abstract
Investigations in Puglia have given a sound base for reconstructing a historical, settlement and socio-economic profile of the region, but a comprehensive study of workshops, fabrics and the forms associated with the production chain, exchange, and consumption. In this sense, a targeted examination of the Apulian-Calabrian area is centered on teh places and techniques of ceramic production between the 3rd century BC and the 3rd century AD, considering fixed installations and small finds as useful indicators. Within the frame of this study, based on the available documentation, this contribution seeks to identify and contextualize the production sites of lanterns, adding to the data on continuity/discontinuity processes in terms of settlement, artisanal crafts, economy and commerce.
