Abstract

Abstract The purpose of the paper is to discuss the content that can be taught through the use of proverbs in the classroom, and, to discuss the strategies teachers use when teaching proverbs. The study used qualitative study methods. Five Grade 12 teachers who teach isiZulu in one Durban secondary school participated in the study. Interviews and classroom observations were used as data generation methods.
