Abstract

The capabilities of the Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) permit building large-scale virtual environments (LSVEs) using the Internet and the World Wide Web. However, the underlying network support provided by the hypertext transfer protocol (http) is insufficient for LSVEs.
