The Development of e-Books Religio-humanistic Parenting as an Effort to Prevent Violence Against Children

Abstract

Parenting is an educational process carried out by parents in the family or by teachers at school Proper parenting can stimulate the growth and development of children well, otherwise bad parenting will have a bad impact on the child's character. Meanwhile, the facts show that there are still many children who experience violence, abuse, and bullying. These acts of violence are mostly carried out by the closest people in the family which are triggered by the heavy burden of parents and parents' ignorance about parenting. This condition triggers the emergence of gaps in parenting that have an impact on violence against children. Therefore, we need digital media about child-friendly parenting that can be accessed by parents anywhere and anytime. This research is a Research and Development (R n D) that aims to compile and test the feasibility of an e-book on humanistic parenting based on religious values. The results showed that the e-Books Religio-humanistic Parenting contained parenting materials with 3 principles, namely non-violent parenting, non-discriminatory parenting, and loving care. This book is suitable to be used as digital media to increase parents' knowledge about parenting to prevent violence against children.
