Genesis Fertility View from the Perspective of Ecofeminism

Abstract

Ecofeminism ushers the third phase in the development of feminism. Combining echoism and feminism to explore gender discrimination becomes the latest research in literature criticism. Discrimination against female in the Bible has always been the focus of feminists and gender discrimination scholars. Previous studies explored this phenomenon from the perspectives of the naming of characters, discourse analysis, and role definition etc., but there are few studies carried out on the concept of childbearing. This paper aims to explore discrimination against female embodied in the concept of childbearing from the stories of female ancestors in Genesis.
