Abstract

This paper introduces a controlled-clearance dead-weight piston gauge for pressure up to 1500MPa. A research has been made carefully on the dependence of the fall rate of the piston to jacket pressure, the dependence of the jacket pressure to the measuring pressure and the variable rule of the characteristic parameter of the piston-cylinder assembly. The uncertainty of diameters of piston is better than $0.1\mu m$. The uncertainty of the piston gauge is 0.02% $(k=3)$, the sensitivity of which is $0. 03MPa.$ The pressure is deduced by the piston gauge based on Heydemann-Welch(H-W) model.
