Impact of Inflation on Share Prices

Abstract

Investment in equities may seem to be an effective bulwark against inflation; however, it is not seen empirically. This is a teaching note prepared to help the students understand the impact of inflation on prices of equity shares. The note considers the impact of inflation on accounting earnings, cash flows and on value of shares.
