[Modified Kirchmayr suture in comparison with the Silfverskjöld folding-plasty in primary management of covered Achilles tendon rupture].

Abstract

There is reported about 63 cases of ruptures of the Achilles-tendon from 1969 to 1988. A comparison was made between a modificated tendon suture by Kirchmayr and its combination with the tendon plastic by Silfverskjöld. This resulted into the conclusion that the anatomical reconstruction of the Achilles-tendon is sufficient for good functional results if this operation takes place primary.
