Abstract
Physarum polycephalum, grown from fragments on an agar
surface, forms a planar transportation network with exclusively low node degrees in a percolation transition. The
dynamics of such a process can be captured by a rate equation
reflecting basic events, such as growth and fusion of
fragments.
